What we publish
Tankwise answers focused, practical questions about freshwater fishkeeping: how to cycle a new tank, what a water change really does, how big a heater needs to be, and why the water went cloudy. We write about method, water chemistry and care, and we do not sell fish, tanks or equipment.
How we research each guide
Every guide starts with one real fishkeeping question. We compare aquarium and water-chemistry sources — including established fishkeeping references and species databases — and we list those sources on the page. Where a figure depends on your tank, water or stocking, we say so rather than presenting one number as universal.
Who writes the guides
Tankwise is an independent editorial desk. Guides are researched and edited in-house and published under the Tankwise Editorial byline rather than a personal name, because we do not want to imply credentials or hands-on experience that we do not have. We do not publish invented author biographies.
Fish health and safety
Our guides describe observation, prevention and general care. They are not veterinary advice, and they cannot diagnose a specific fish. For persistent illness or unexplained deaths, seek advice from a qualified aquatic vet or an experienced local society.
Corrections and feedback
Fishkeeping guidance improves with experience and research. If you spot a broken source or an unclear step, email the page title and a short description, and we will review it. When a correction changes the advice, we update the page and its date.
