What we are responsible for
Every page on Tankwise answers one specific, practical fishkeeping question. We publish methods, reference data and care guidance — not product sales, not sponsored recommendations. We are an editorial desk, and we sign our work as Tankwise Editorial rather than inventing named experts or credentials we do not have.
How we research a guide
Guidance is built from established aquarium references, species databases and general water-chemistry sources, listed at the foot of each page. We prefer primary or well-established references over aggregators. When sources disagree, we say so and explain which figure suits which situation, rather than presenting one number as universal.
How we use research and writing tools
We use research and editing tools, including automated assistance, to draft and structure content efficiently. They are a drafting aid, not the final word: every published guide is reviewed against its sources and edited for accuracy. We do not publish unreviewed generated text, and we do not mass-produce pages without added value. If a page cannot be supported by a credible source or a clear method, we do not publish it.
Fish health content
Articles on fish health describe observation, prevention and general care. They are not veterinary advice and cannot diagnose an individual fish. Where a problem may be serious, we say so and point readers towards qualified help.
Updates and corrections
Each guide shows a publication date and, where revised, an updated date. We refresh guides when guidance or sources change, and we revise any page that contains an error. To report a mistake, email [email protected] with the page title and a short description.
Independence and advertising
Tankwise is reader-supported through display advertising. Advertisements are clearly separated from editorial content and do not influence what we write or how we rank sources. We do not publish paid placements disguised as editorial.
Images and licensing
Photographs and illustrations are used under their stated licence (public domain, CC0, or Creative Commons with attribution). Attribution and licence details are listed on our image credits page.
